I had a cracker of a day down at Hayling today. Got down there early (well, 9.30) and it was blowing old boots. Rigged my 4.7 and waited for the tide to drop a bit so the bay would flatten off. In the intervening time, the wind backed off for a while and everyone went out on 5.2s and 5.5s. Glad I stuck with the 4.7 as the wind returned and it was spot on.Went out at 11:00 and had a great time. Nailed almost all my waterstarts, sailed out much further than I have in the past, and even managed to ride a few bits of swell on the way in. I don't know why, buy sailing at Hayling just feels very safe and gives me confidence. Really enjoyed myself today - it all came together perfectly. Warm as toast too. It really doesn't feel like winter at all - more like spring.

Also bumped into Pauls and his daughter on the beach! Nice to meet yet another forumite! I saw Jim Millen sailing, but didn't realise it was him till I read his post.
